May 27th

The birds have officially flown away now :( They're all grown up. But maybe there will be more birds next year!

May 26th

They're exactly two weeks old now! And guess what? They started flying! I didn't get their first flight on camera, but the bird flew all the way across the street into my neighbor's garage.

May 25th

Wow they are getting big! They're almost two weeks old now and they're looking more and more like adults every day.

May 24th

I felt bad for the robins today! It's a good 93 degrees out today, and on top of that it's super humid and muggy! Sure, there's a breeze, but picture yourself on a day like today (and consider that last week it was rainy and almost 50 degrees), you're covered in feathers, and you're squished in a nest with another bird underneath a mailbox where basically no air flow is. Yeah, not very comfortable. Well, at least it's not snowing--this is Minnesota, people, so it's probably possible to have snow in May.

May 23rd

Nothing too different today...

May 22nd

I took a video today. Watch the end--the robin divebombs and almost hits me on the head! That's when I decided to go back inside...

May 21st

If I were these birds, I'd be awfully squished. That nest barely looks big enough for one bird, nevertheless two! They're snuggled up against each other, but they're constantly asleep.

May 19th

Today they opened their mouths wide at me! I couldn't tell if that meant "hi" or "get your big butt outta here," so I left.

May 18th

They're growing really quickly now! But I only see two baby birds and I swear there were four eggs and four nestlings before.

May 17th

Their feathers have grown more. And guess what? They're still sleeping. :P But Momma Bird's been real busy getting food, so she's been gone a lot. She still gets mad when I go up to her nest, though.

May 16th

Feathers have appeared! They're not quite...er, pretty, yet, but I guess it takes time. Every time I see them, they're asleep.

May 14th

They're growing. Slowly but surely they're growing! Their skin is so thin you can see their fluttering heartbeats and even some organs! Kind of gross... The mother is very protective and she doesn't like me near them. Tiny patches of fluff are all over their small bodies. I'd say they aren't much longer than my pointer finger.

May 12th

They finally hatched! They're kind of ugly, but they'll be cute soon enough!

May 10th

There's a nest of robin nestlings in my mailbox, and I've decided to make a blog of it.
The eggs are a brilliant blue, and the mother is very protective. I hope they will hatch soon!
